Day 4 - Bug's life

Today the riot was finally over so we were able to travel by bus to the building site. We arrived at the site at 9 am, where we were greeted by all the local children waving at the entrance of the site. We were then allocated different jobs, I started off with the rock smashing. Everything was going okay until I discovered the large collection of ants next to my foot. Later on in the morning I went in to the nursery to help with the local children. We had to help serve the breakfast and lunch, taught them English nursery rhymes and play with play-dough. The children were really cute, and they all gave us hugs and kisses when it was time for them to go home.

We returned to the hotel for lunch, then we went back to the building site on the afternoon. We had to help lift the sand we carried into the yard into the classroom which will eventually become the floor. Others were painting the classroom, Megan painted a rainbow in a lovely shade of dark blue. Megan is proud. Megan gusta manzana.

Once back at the hotel, we ate dinner and then played cards. We then had reflection, where Joe talked to us about Wealth and Poverty.

We are now playing cards again and waiting for our pizzas.

Alexandra :-)
