Last Post before we leave...

Packing is done, finally!
It's all in one bag, just!
Gadgets are charged!
Tick lists are ticked!
Books are, well, books!

Was at a family wedding last night and everyone there kept telling me how excited I must be, and I am, but equally scared! Not to sure if its going totally into the abyss, not to sure if its the enormity of what we have to go ahead of us, but what I do know is I'm not going to come back regretting it!

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more

guys...

12 HOURS!!

Monday 24 June 2013

Hope you're all nearly sorted!
There'll be a meeting Thursday break time in RE1 to pick up T-shirts and other bits and pieces.

1 Week to go!

Well I have started packing, OK, thats a lie, I've started putting clothes in a pile in a corner of my room, and I've brought Arts and Crafts to use in the lessons.

Picked lots and lots of little things they can do and hopefully it will be pretty enjoyable! I've attached some more pictures of other ideas I saw in Hobbycraft in Team Valley that you could use for yourself too.

Arts and Crafts

Morning All.

As we do get nearer the departure time I know we are focusing on what clothes to take out, make sure we have all of our toiletries, making playlists and buying books but the one thing I myself have slightly neglected is the arts and crafts side.

I am going to Hobby-Craft this weekend at Team Valley to pick up a range of bits and pieces and following on from Miss Hoppers suggestion I've been using  Pintrest for ideas and inspiration on what I can do whilst we are out there!

Get thinking of what you are going to be doing, remember we are out there for a while and you will need activities to keep them going for a few hours!

If you could add links to the comment section of interesting ideas you are doing or feel other people could do that would be appreciated. And if always you want to start your own comment or thread e-mail me and I'll have you added as a contributor to the blog!

A month to go.

So then.

This time in four weeks I will be all ready to go. Still lots of teaching, marking, planning and work to do in the meantime but the countdown is definitely on.

I have started, possibly too late on Duolingo, an excellent online tool to learn some Spanish, my money is on order from the Post Office and after a massive faff on with the pharmacy in Tesco I have my malaria and typhoid medication on order as well as all my other jabs up-to date. Books are ordered from Amazon to get me through the serious traveling we will face and in usual fashion I am spending a little too long making playlists for downtime.

Lessons are underway and need to see Ms Somers about a potential Sports Day, and then write my own lesson. My reflection is coming along and I"m getting to grips working with iMovie on my iPad to create a video when we are out there for a staff briefing.

I'm thinking of "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire as a suitable backing track!

Packing is also in the early stages, putting aside stuff I'm more than happy to leave behind with me on the advice of Matthew Kipling (and so I can treat myself to new stuff when I get back) and toiletries are being collected to.

Not going to sign off this blog with a big question to ask you all and comment on, but just to keep in mind its getting closer and to start with the little jobs now as if you leave it all to the end, you'll no doubt forget something.

Comments welcome as always!
